The Brownsville Police Department posted on Facebook Thursday that the odds are “pretty good” that the Browns, who won their third straight playoff game, will take the field in a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The post was later deleted.
Brownsville Police Chief Chris Williams said the post had been taken down but that he had not lost confidence in the department’s ability to fight off the Steelers.
Brown and Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger are in the final year of their rookie contracts, and the Browns and Steelers have never met in the postseason.
The Browns beat the Steelers 21-16 on Sunday.
