A Wawa wine cellar at the Twin Coast Mall in Melbourne has to be replaced after a massive fire gutted the place.
The massive fire broke out late Tuesday night, leaving behind a $200-million hole in the ground.
“We are just devastated to have lost so much,” said manager of Wawa Wine & Spirits Peter Wijaya.
It was a major fire in the wine store, said Mr Wijya.
He said the wine cellar was one of the biggest in the store and had about 100 customers.
There are only two windows in the building, which is one of three wine-themed retail stores in the mall.
Workers from Wawa and another company, Bensalem, are on site to clean up the damage.
They say it will cost them at least $1 million to fix the damage and replace the damaged wine cellar.
Fire crews were still on scene Tuesday evening to inspect the wine storage, which was the only visible casualty of the fire.
Wawa is owned by Australian-based supermarket giant Woolworths.
The Twin Coast wine store was opened in 2011, and was owned by the Wawa Family Trust.
More to come.
