President Barack Obama said Friday that we’re not in a war over Donald Trump’s proposed tax overhaul.
Instead, he said, the focus will be on how the tax plan will help businesses, reduce taxes for the middle class and help individuals pay their fair share.
Obama said in a news conference that Trump’s proposal is “not going to make the country great again.”
Instead, he argued, it will be an opportunity to create jobs and grow the economy.
Obama also laid out a plan to help people in states where unemployment is high.
The president said that the president’s plan would raise taxes on the wealthy and would cut tax rates for the rest of us.
